To Serve God

“The motivating force in Girl Scouting is spiritual.”

 – Preamble, Constitution of Girl Scouts of the USA –

“We, the members of Girl Scouts of the United States of America, united by a belief in God and by acceptance of the Girl Scout Promise and Law, ….

Do dedicate ourselves to the purpose of inspiring girls with the highest ideals of character, conduct, patriotism, and service that they may become happy and resourceful citizens.

We believe that the motivating force in Girl Scouting is a spiritual one.

We affirm that the Girl Scout Movement shall ever be open to all girls and adults who accept the Girl Scout Promise and Law.”

Religious Emblems for Girl Scouts
and Camp Fire

Religious emblems are available for all Catholic Girl Scouts through the Diocese of Peoria in association with the National Federation of Catholic Youth Ministries. These materials may also be used for other Catholic Youth Programs, such as Camp Fire and 4-H. Booklets and emblems are ordered through the Diocesan Chaplain Fr. Glenn Harris. For more information about these programs click on the Youth Emblems button at the top of the page.

Adult Awards

Emblems are awarded by the Diocesan Committee on Scouting in association with the National Federation of Catholic Youth Ministries to adults who support and foster the spiritual development of Catholic youth within the programs of the Girl Scouts of the United States and the Campfire Association.

The St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Award is usually bestowed prior to the St. Anne medal. The number of St. Anne emblems awarded each calendar year is limited to a maximum of three. The St. Elizabeth Ann Seton emblem application consists of a nomination form and the recommendation of the nominee’s pastor. The application form for the St. Anne emblem consists of a completed nomination form and an additional three letters of recommendation (one of which must be from the nominee’s pastor).

As with the adult religious emblems for Boy Scouts, adults active with the Girl Scouts do not seek these awards, but rather are nominated for them by others.

Please click on the Adult Awards button at the top of the page for more information and the application forms.
